A targeted state-of-the-art review on past, existing and emerging freight measures and initiatives relevant for the STRAIGHTSOL demonstrations.
Freight scheme impact assessment framework
The project developed a generic evaluation framework for urban-interurban freight transport.
Demonstrations
Seven demonstrations were carried out (click on links for detailed information):
- DHL Supply Chain's Urban Consolidation Centre in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat (Spain)
- TNT Express in Brussels - City Logistics Mobile Depot (Belgium)
- Oxfam - Remote 'bring-site' monitoring for more reactive and sustainable logistics (UK)
- Kuehne-Nagel - Rail tracking and warehouse management (Greece)
- GS1 - Retail supply chain management and "last mile" distribution by use of standardized information (Norway)
- Colruyt and Delhaize - Night-time distribution in Brussels (Belgium)
- EMEL - Loading / unloading operations management and regulations (Portugal)
Impact assessment
Evaluation of the demonstration results using the impact assessment framework, including lessons learned, generalisation of results to other cities and business models for innovative and sustainable urban-interurban transport.

Synthesis and recommendations
Synthesis of the demonstrator results to develop a set of tailored recommendations to improve the logistics operations in urban-interurban contexts.
Development of implementation strategies and viable roadmaps to inspire shippers and logistics service providers to use the tested solutions.
